WORK
"A Labor of Love" Dave calls it.
From November 2001 to April of 2002 he worked on his first children's book entitled "When I Wished I was Alone". Dave also wrote the book.
Dave illustrated 17 full-color illustrations for the book, which is about a little boy who, after getting angry at his family, wishes he could always be alone. After falling asleep, he wakes up to find his wish has come true. The story continues with the boy learning the joy and wonder of being alone, but also the realization of how much he misses his family.
"When I Wished I was Alone" was published by GreycoreKIDS Publishing, a new division on Greycore Publishing (greycore.com).
BORDERS, the national bookstore chain, selected When I Wished I was Alone as a Best of 2003 Read To Me Picture Book. BARNES & NOBLE featured the book during the '03 holiday season.
When I Wished I was Alone is available at all B&N's, Borders, Amazon.com and other bookstores.
