Why aren't there keywords?

I’ve been submitting stock illustration for years, and as a designer, I’ve been looking for stock imagery for years. I have found that keywords, while useful, are limiting in terms of discovering suitable imagery.

In addition, my work tends to have many meanings to many people. What one person sees as the perfect visual solution for their needs, another designer might otherwise not. Discovering images that do not necessarily fall into a “keyword” category often inspires creative solutions that otherwise would have been missed.
